Avid Downward Trend Continues

Preliminary financial results from Avid show that the company currently expects revenues for the three-month period ended March 31, 2012 to be approximately $152 million. First quarter revenues were negatively impacted by weaker demand in the creative enthusiast portion of the company’s business, with revenues down approximately 30 percent compared to the first quarter of 2011. Revenues for the remainder of the business were down modestly compared to last year, according to Avid.

Routing switchers will grow by over $25 million through 2013

Routing switchers will grow by over $25 million through 2013. SCRI International reports a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 1.25% for this product category for the three-year period surveyed. Cablers are the strongest vertical market, with 39.3% of all facilities planning to purchase routing switchers this year. This according to SCRI’s just published 2012-2013 Broadcast / Pro Video Routing Switchers Report.

SeaChange Reports Record 4Q

SeaChange International, Inc.  reported revenue of $51.7 million (excluding $2.4 million in revenues related to discontinued operations) and a non-GAAP income per share from continuing operations of $0.18 for the fourth quarter ended January 31, 2012. In comparison, fourth quarter fiscal 2011 revenue was $57.9 million and non-GAAP income per share from continuing operations was $0.19, respectively. The Company’s fourth quarter and full year financial results reflect the impact of its previously announced agreement to sell its former broadcast servers and storage business while retaining its video streaming software and related hardware business
