Apple is reported to be in talks with Comcast about entering into a streaming TV service. Comcast just signed a deal with Netflix last month. Apple Snares Adobe CTO

Adobe Systems Chief Technology Officer Kevin Lynch, is headed  to Apple as of March 22. Ironically Lynch is best known for criticizing Apple CEO Steve Jobs for failing to support Adobe’s Flash technology after Jobs famously trashed the software platform and forbade its use on any iPhone, iPad.

Apple Reports Record Q4 Revenue and Profit

Apple announced financial results for its fiscal 2012 fourth quarter ended September 29, 2012.   The Company posted quarterly revenue of $36.0 billion and quarterly net profit of $8.2 billion, or $8.67 per diluted share. These results compare to revenue of $28.3 billion and net profit of $6.6 billion, or $7.05 per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter. Gross margin was 40.0 percent compared to 40.3 percent in the year-ago quarter. International sales accounted for 60 percent of the quarter’s revenue. […]

Apple Reports Record Q1 Results

Apple just reported their Q1 2012 financial results, posting record-breaking revenue of $46.33 billion, with 15.43 million iPads, 37.04 million iPhones and 5.2 million Macs sold. Apple sold 15.4 million iPods, a 21 percent unit decline from the year-ago quarter. The company posted quarterly net profit of $13.06 billion, or $13.87 per diluted share. iPhone represented a 128 percent unit growth over the year-ago quarter, while iPad reported a 111 percent unit increase over the year-ago quarter.

Apple’s Final Cut Pro is the leading video-editing program. It’s a $1,000 professional app. It was used to make “The Social Network,” “True Grit,” “Eat Pray Love” and thousands of student movies, independent films and TV shows. According to the research firm SCRI, it has 54 percent of the video-editing market, far more than its rivals from Adobe and Avid.
