SCRI’s recent Post Production/ Post in the Cloud Report shows that more and more production and post activities are being conducted by use of the cloud.

The primary cloud application is Review & Approval – 82% either current doing or would consider -- 22% of all facilities use Cloud 100% for Review and Approval. File storage (76%) ranks next followed by File Back Up (74%). Post Production (61%), Data Asset Management/DAM (59%), Rendering (55%), Getting Content Back from the Field (54%) and Run Your Studio Database (53.7%).

Other cloud applications not specifically listed in the survey but reported by users included the following: Transcoding & Streaming: CRM; Graphics and VFX; Color Grading for Dailies: Multi-delivery platform distribution for streamed live news content.

The Post Production/ Post in the Cloud Report contains a wide range of data on cloud apps and usage as well as brand shares of key product types.
