“Which companies do you think are leading the way in providing 4K products in the broadcast and video production sector?” This is one of the many questions SCRI asked of a wide range of broadcasters and pro video / digital video facilities in a recent survey & report, 2014-15 Digital Video Production & Post Trends, conducted by SCR International in conjunction with ProductionHUB. WHat do you think? Results follow:
Sony leads the way with two out of three facilities selecting Sony (67.6%) as the 4k/UHD market leader in this space. Following relatively close behind is the Red Digital Cinema Camera Company with just over half voting for this brand (51.7%). Of interest is the emergence of Blackmagic Design in third spot (47.8%), beating out venerable brands like Panasonic and JVC. Similarly Canon (38.2%) emerged in a respectable fourth position, followed by Panasonic (33.3%), AJA Video (24.2%), Samsung (17.4%), Avid 15.9%) and JVC (10.6%). WHat do you think? Respond below.
Interesting survey results.
Question, did ROSS Video get any votes?
I wonder how many of the respondents knew that there was a ROSS Carbonite production Switcher operating flawlessly in 4K, producing program material, throughout the entire 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil?
Ross is up there in the 4K market with at least two of their Production Switcher models Carbonite [1M/E to 2.5M/E] and Acuity [1M/E to 8M/E] both of which run in 4K/3GB/HD/SD-SDI. Also the ROSS XPression Graphics System operating in 4K mode, was presented at IBC this year.
